I feel that my group has done well for the presentation and it was rather fun. I think that I have generally performed well for my oral presentation. I will examine the preparation, the use of Prezi and finally my delivery during the presentation in the following paragraphs.
Firstly, we (my group) had put in much effort to prepare for this presentation. Each of us contributed our ideas and played our individual role to complement each other’s part. We took note of what each of us is covering and made an effort to draw cross-references to each other to the best of our abilities. We took time out to practice and to help shape up each other’s presentational skills before the actual presentation. Our preparation for this presentation was a team effort.
Secondly, the use of Prezi was a unanimous decision to spice up our presentation. We felt that we needed to add something different which was not showcased during the mock presentation in order not to bore the audience. I felt that we made a good choice because the presentation was a success. Prezi is a great platform which gave us an additional visual impact with the effects and captured the audience even more.
However, certain parts of the presentation could have been better organized, as commented by Qi. I was in charge of the entire layout in Prezi and I agree with him that I could have done a better job. Nevertheless, Prezi has been very effective and I am sure to use Prezi more often in the future.
Lastly, I felt that my delivery was slightly lacking today. Although my feedback was good and confident, I felt that I stumbled quite some parts today. I was initially scared when I went just started the presentation and my words and ideas were not articulated the way I wanted them to be. On the other hand, I made sure to project my voice, took notice of my body language and hand gestures, as well as to maintain eye contact with the audience. I will be sure to better prepare myself for my next presentation.
Actually I didn't notice that you have stumbled or even hesitate in your presentation at all! It was a very good presentation like always. But I am happy that you didn't tilt your head back anymore:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Angelia. I didn't even notice that you had stumbled over some parts of the presentation. Someone once told me that the audience never knows what your script is, so even if you forget some part of it, just pretend nothing is wrong and move on. If you can act confident, they won't detect the problem! :D

I can see that you have put in a lot of effort in the presentation. As you said, there are just so many things for us to think about during the presentation, like hand gestures, eye contact, face expression, and certainly the content we need to deliver to the audience. I know it cannot be that easy for anyone. But your presentation flows very well. At least that's how we perceived it. Job well done!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I pointed out your team didn't fully utilize the features of Prezi during your presentation. But the same thing happened to our team. Haha. It is just not easy to use something new to create something perfect in a short period of time. However, it was a nice experience to try something new. No regrets!
The use of Prezi really helps to engage the audience. It give us a very good understanding of the idea of the proposal and a very clear picture of what you want to convey.
ReplyDeleteAs for your presentation, you are as good as usual. I like you quote "if there is a demand, we can supply". It was a very good attention getter and it convinced me that the project is economically feasible.
I like the way you examine our presentation entirely. The more reflection we gained, the more improvement we attained:) I have to say you had done very good job in this project from choosing topic, collecting survey results, working on the Prezi to delivering presentation. Everything was organized so well under your controlled:)

ReplyDeleteI think you articulate well during the presentation, like usual. You were very composed, like a boss. x) You looked like you are in command of the whole situation and everything was under your control. :)
If you really want me to find fault, I would say I have noticed this habit of yours (it is not exactly a fault in the first place actually). I observed that you have a tendency to clear your throat (/swallow) when you are speaking, as in it is normal for us to clear our throats before speaking but I find that you always did it rather obviously. For me, this "swallowing" is your signature action when you are speaking. You always have that once or twice during your previous presentations/ discussions, I think that is perfectly fine for I have always thought this is your strategy to signify that you are starting your speech or to insert pauses so that you can have the time to think of what to say next. I think it is absolutely alright when you have it just once or twice while you were speaking, like what you did always. It is definitely not a problem, just that for this final presentation, I find that you have this "swallowing" quite a number of times which is a bit frequent. Haha, I am not sure if it is just me or... do you realise this? Or this is what you have meant by stumbling?
Still, you have done a great presentation on the whole and personally, I like/ prefer your style of presentation. :)
